The conversation started when they asked Trout about the reason for his increased strikeouts. Notably, Trout’s average has fallen below 0.120 in June while facing fastballs. Mike Trout addressed the issue surrounding his performances at the plate. He shared, “Obviously, I haven’t been myself, but last week or so I’ve been better, but no. Sometimes you gotta be honest with yourself, but it’s a different ball game in that box right now.”

Reflecting on the increase in speed, Trout shared his take on the future. He added, “It’s different and like I said, I’m just looking into the future, man. It’s, phew. You got guys – I mean, you got – I got my boy Joyce coming out of the pen on 104.”
The three participants then talked about the recent incident of high-speed pitches. To which Trout said, “How about the hundred? How about five hours of splitters? I mean, that’s like a blitz ball.” There has been a rise in pitching speed that the recent record set by Jhoan Duran reflected.

Though pitchers have many other skills to beat the batter in their game, speed is one of their major weapons.
But pitching it faster and faster is becoming a regular approach in recent times. This happened during the Minnesota Twins vs. San Francisco Giants game. Duran threw three pitches over 104, setting a new benchmark in the league. Ben Joyce of the Angels also achieved this feat with a pitching velocity of 104 mph ahead of the season.
