As the upcoming season approaches, teams are pulling out all the stops to ensure they come out on top. The excitement is palpable as players are already reporting to camp this week. However, with intense workouts and grueling training regimens right after an off-season, it’s not uncommon for players to experience nagging injuries during this time of the year.
It is common knowledge that no one wants to see a star player forced to sit out because of an injury sustained right at the beginning of a season. This is particularly true for Jacob deGrom, a former member of the New York Mets who is now making his debut with the Texas Rangers. Unfortunately, it seems that deGrom is already dealing with an injury before making his Rangers debut.

Jacob deGrom is the Rangers’ newest ace who recently signed a massive $185 million deal with the team. Unfortunately, deGrom has hit a snag in his preparation for the upcoming season, as he is currently dealing with tightness on his left side. While the Rangers are optimistic that the injury is not serious, deGrom has understandably been holding off on throwing for a day or two to allow his body to recover.

The left side tightness is the latest in a series of injuries that deGrom has suffered in the last season and a half, including right forearm tightness, right elbow soreness, and a stress reaction in his right shoulder.
However, with plenty of time still left before the start of the regular season, there is still hope that deGrom will be able to get back to full strength.
Was his injury expected? Well, baseball fans believe so…
Injuries are an unfortunate reality in the world of sports, and baseball is no exception. However, in a truly expected way, some fans are taking a lighthearted approach to Jacob deGrom’s injury situation. Joking that these early injuries are a sure sign that baseball is officially underway.
