Often referred to as baseball quirks, coincidences are a common occurrence in the game. From Babe Ruth’s trade to Jackie Robinson’s jersey number, coincidences have played a huge role in shaping the game into what it is today. Whether it’s a player pulling off a ridiculous statistic on the same day or a team turning a game around by winning over the odds, baseball is full of such eccentricities. And now, another coincidence of the game has shown up with the three baseball legends, including the one and only 14x All-Star Alex Rodriguez

Recently, three college baseball players came up sharing an uncanny coincidence with the former world champ A-Rod and two others. All three players play for the same college in Ohio, Owens Junior College, making the coincidence even more peculiar.

The baseball legends who share a coincidence with Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez are two-time world champ Kirk Gibson and the late Hall of Famer Joe Morgan. All three legends may not have played at the same time, but Gibson was the common link for the other two, as he played sometime during the career of the other two legends.

Now, these three names have shown up once again, playing the same position for the same junior college. Alex Rodriguez III, Kirk Gibson, and Joey Morgan share the names of three of the best baseball players.

Many people might consider it as an honor, but if they did, it’d sure be tough to live up to expectations set by the three legends during their careers.

In 2021, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. hit his career’s 100th home run. And it was the same day when his former teammate Freddie Freeman had hit his career’s 250th home run. That moment marked the first time in MLB history that two teammates hit such milestones on the same day.

Another coincidence would be pitcher Clayton Kershaw striking out Brandon Lowe and his brother Derek Lowe six years apart, both in the final game of the post-season.
