The free agency market still has surprises in store as one of the best pitchers, Blake Snell, is still available to find his best fit. On the other hand, the Yankees, who have seen one of the most disappointing years in the 2023 season, are actively searching for another exceptional pitcher to strengthen Aaron Judge’s troop. Now, though both seem to be fitted in the best possible way, the Pinstripes are probably not the only one to eye for the pitcher.

After being available even during the spring training, Cody Bellinger agreed to the short-term deal, landing in the Cubs force. Now, following Bellinger’s strides, Snell is also demonstrating reasonable flexibility concerning the duration of his contract. Now, is the flexibility favorable for the Brox? Seemingly not.

According to the MLB rumors, the two-time Cy Young Winner shows enough interest in getting associated with the Pinstripes. But the monetary barriers may become the biggest hindrance to covering for their Bronx. After landing the Dominican ace, Juan Soto, in the off-season trade with a significantly massive amount, the Yankees may break the bank to land the Cy Young winner in their troop.

However, the renowned MLB insider, Jon Heyman, remarked about a meeting between the team authority and the star agent Scott Boras, who also represents Blake Snell. Though details about the meeting are yet to be revealed, given the Bronx’s previous offer of merely $150 million, it becomes difficult to project their monetary flexibility.

But the monetary limitation isn’t the barrier for the other teams, as few MLB giants actively pursue Snell, especially after he agreed to the short-term deal, posing a hindrance before the Pinstripes. The rumors about the Los Angeles Angels showing interest in the NL Cy Young winner are buzzing around. Conversely, they have every option to sign the 31-year-old pitcher. However, their wait may threaten them even during the spring training.
