The same happened when two former New York Yankees teammates and frenemies, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, shared a stage at the big London Series.

Although the series was already under the watch of baseball fans, the meeting between Jeter and Rodriguez further increased their interest. Given how the relationship between Jeter and Rodriguez has progressed over the years, many had doubted that the two would share the stage. However, when it happened, while Jeter making a debut, many people felt the meeting between the two was not gradual. The same is the case with the former Miami Marlins President, who reacted to the meeting during “The Dan Le Batard Show.”

Samson pointed toward the nature of the meeting and shared, “A lot of this is manufactured like wrestling.” Samson also reacted to the awkwardness of Jeter around Rodriguez and shared, “Jeter’s always been a fraud. Ask people in the know about Derek Jeter. And I’ll start. Happy to start.”

Samson then also took a dig at Jeter, while bringing his time at the Marlins, which ended in 2022. He said, “I’m thankful to him for being so dumb as to do what he did with the Marlins. So I’m thankful to him. So I’m not criticizing him at all.” Even though it was a more than four-year tenure, Jeter oversaw many changes at the club, which were not liked by many.

Marlins’ performance took a nosedive under Derek Jeter’s stewardship

Derek Jeter had a tough time at the office as Marlins CEO. The team failed to do well under his leadership and recorded just 63 wins against 98 losses in the first season finishing last in NL East. In his second season as owner, the team’s performance took a nosedive, registering a dismal record of 57-105 following the same pattern of attendance. Moreover, fans questioned his decisions as a CEO after he traded players and fired two Hall of Famers. Now a year after, the same criticism has followed Jeter through a familiar face.
