It is almost impossible to keep Bryce Harper away from grabbing headlines. Be it because of his game or because of his on-field activities, the Philadelphia Phillies slugger often lands himself into trouble. Something similar happened in the recent game between the Phillies and the Colorado Rockies. It was the third game of the series, and being in the lead Phillies were in a dominant position before the contest. Though things didn’t materialize for the visitors as they lost the game and saw their star player Bryce Harper ejected after a brawl that cleared both benches.

It happened in the seventh innings of the game, with Colorado in the lead. During one of the pitches, an alteration broke out after Harper made a charge toward the Rockies’ bench. Even fans took digs at the reigning NLCS MVP.

Bryce Harper lost his cool and saw an ejection from the game!

It was a frustrating game for the Phillies. Players were not happy with it, especially Bryce Harper, who hasn’t had the best of games since his return. Some words provoked Harper, which caused him to lose his cool, and a brawl ensued. Fox Sports shared a video of the incident on Twitter. The announcers also shared their thoughts about the case.

“He’s got to have to be held back. Jake Bird started saying something, and Harper’s not happy about it. He’s pushing Diaz. Watch the elbow. J T’s coming over as well. They’re telling. Yeah, Jake Bird must have said something as he was going off the fields. I mean, for somebody that threw more pitches out of the strike zone than in the strike zone, he’s fortunate that he was able to get out of it without any problems.” 

It seems the temperatures rose after Jake Bird said something to Harper. Meanwhile, no team could add anything to the scoreboard after this incident. The Rockies had their first win after two losses. It was the effort of Charlie Blackmon, which put the team ahead. Blackmon finished the game with two runs to his name and, at an average of 0.282.
