Is A-Rod better off sticking to baseball after his Lake Tahoe tournament mishaps?

It’s the first major Golf tournament for the Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez. After dominating the MLB league, the ex-MLB superstar will play at the American Century Championship. To make sure he hits golf balls into the holes, A-Rod is working on his slicing skills. Every other day at the Rickwood Field and Tahoe practicing golf, fans have spotted Rodriguez practicing golf for the mega event.

Joining Rodriguez, some of the big names in sports will be there, namely NFL legend Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, and a few more. More to it, the event will be held at a prime Edgewood Tahoe starting from July 10th to 14th, 2024. However, while others have a fair idea of playing Golf, A-Rod is struggling big-time. If that’s not all, he also shared his basketball woes from the Lake Tahoe arena. Revealing his struggle while playing both sports, A-Rod’s hilarious Instagram posts are worth noting.

Unarguably, it was not a good day for A-Rod at Lake Tahoe as he struggled to play Golf and Basketball. Despite practicing relentlessly in Golf, his latest post reveals something different. After smashing the golf ball hard, he was seen with body aches, whereas the caption read, “Well, there’s always tomorrow.” However, compared to the first day when A-Rod came to Lake Tahoe, he seemed improved. Previously, the Yankees veteran cleared a Hole 7/Par 3 with an impressive 172-yard drive followed by a 15-foot to score a birdie.

Following the basketball incident struggle, he failed to put three balls in succession into the basket. Although the distance wasn’t much, and seeing Alex’s height, he could have landed at least a few feet into the spot. Amid A-Rod’s golf training and basketball sessions, he met a few fans at Lake Tahoe. Always being a crowd puller, he signed Autographs and even posed for some pictures at the golf course.

Still, despite having struggles, his passion for golf remains imminent. He has regularly visited Lake Tahoe early in the morning for golf practice. Additionally, it will be A-Rod’s first golf appearance, and playing against veterans like Rice won’t be easy. However, other players might have more skin in the game as the 2023 champion is out this time. Even more, Steph Curry’s absence could give newer players like Alex Rodriguez a slight advantage.

Steph Curry, 2023 Celebrity Event champion, misses out

Being a one-sided winner at the Lake Tahoe 2023 championship, this time, Curry will miss the 2024 event. Unveiling his 2023 victory, he was flawless as he scored a walk-off-eagle straight on the final hole, clinching the elusive title. This time, he has national commitments as he will participate in the Olympics, representing Team USA.

Still, he is on the verge of ending his NBA career. The ongoing season will be his last NBA tour, and he hopes to retire after the event. Following the retirement, he could be available to play Golf in full capacity. However, despite the absence of Steph Curry, there are other fearsome competitors. The presence of Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars is enough to shake the opponents. Both of them had 4,000-yard seasons back to back, and this time, they could look for a potential third.

Sharing insights about the Lake Tahoe event, there’s a massive prize pool. It’s a staggering $750,000 whereas the winner will get $150,000, and the remaining $600,000 is there for charity purposes.  Eventually, seeing the golf struggles of A-Rod, it won’t be an easy road for him. For Rodriguez to master the sport perfectly, he might have to spend a few more years learning golf. Still, despite repeated failures, Rodriguez’s dedication to Golf is a reflection of what has made him an absolute legend in a tough sport like MLB
