Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez has always been an advocate of working in real estate while in the business world. With the help of some of the greatest minds, A-Rod built his billion-dollar investment firm with a primary focus on real estate. Be it the start of his baseball career at 18 or bidding farewell to the game in 2016, Alex has always been a proud real estate investor. Also, in many talk shows he has attended as a host, he has spoken about how important investing in real estate is.
However, for quite some time now, Alex has taken a dramatic u-turn. Coming from a multimillionaire like Rodriguez, who became a businessman by investing in real estate, and earned millions from it, taking a U-turn somehow would make one feel different, if not wrong.
What turn did Alex Rodriguez take on real estate?

The 14 times All-Star recently sat down for an episode of the podcast 20 VC with Harry Stebbings. There, among other things, the two of them talked about the recent biggest change Alex has made in his businesses.

The host, Harry, asked Alex about the biggest thing he has changed his mind about in the past 12 months. Without missing a beat, A-Rod said, “I think our strategy on continuing to buy real estate assets, I basically put a pause on everything, and we’re sitting back and just watching and seeing where the FED goes within streets.”
This statement from Alex is indeed a big thing, considering buying real estate is how he became an entrepreneur and, ultimately, the multimillionaire that he is today.
How did A-Rod find dip his hands in real estate?
Becoming a businessman and a professional baseball player has always been a dream for Alex. Needless to say, he fulfilled one of his dreams when he got drafted as a teenager. After which, when he got his first salary from MLB at the age of eighteen, he went ahead and charmed himself with a couple of Rolex watches.

However, when he realized that he wanted to enter the business world and was short on money, he sold those Rolex watches. With the money he got from those selling the watches, he bought his first real estate and started the now billion dollars worth investment firm, A-Rod Corp. And the rest is history.
