Alex Rodriguez was the biggest baseball star during his playing days. He was one of the rare players who had his own identity even before signing for the New York Yankees. Notably, way before signing his contracts for the Pinstripes, the former shortstop was already an MLB superstar. Unlike the Mariners and Rangers, the Yankees also had a strong squad. Reacting to the same, Jeter also showed his excitement at sharing the locker room with Alex Rodriguez.

“Rodriguez had endured a wild winter, nearly landing in Boston before showing up in the Bronx. Worn down by all the negotiating, by all the back and forth between owners and agents and union officials, Rodriguez’s wife, Cynthia, turned to Jeter on the flight up from Tampa and said, “I’m glad this is all over,” the book said.

The captain smiled. “The party has just begun.”
