Alex Rodriguez is one of the legendary ex-baseball players. Despite that, he always missed out on the most incredible honor of Sportsmanship- The Hall of Fame. While others generally want to enter the Hall of Fame as baseball players, A-Rod has different plans for him. He prioritizes something that only exists sometimes.

Hall of Fame is the most glorious honor every player who contributed to the sports can be eligible to get. However, there are exceptions which only sometimes get selected for it. Unfortunately, A-Rod comes to this list, but he was still hopeful to enter, even if not as a baseball player. During his interview a few years back, before he was eligible for the vote, Rodriguez humorously expressed his opinion about the Hall of Fame, saying he has more opportunity to have Hall of Fame Fatherhood.

Though the former New York Yankees player is not as controversial as Barry Bonds, he often appears in the limelight for his professional and personal life. Undoubtedly, his contribution to the game is undeniable; he still never received enough votes to be elected to the Hall of Fame. This Yankees Shortstop opened his mind during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his episode “Alex Rodriguez on Dating Jennifer Lopez” back in 2017.

During their light and casual chat, the host said A-Rod’s accomplishments seem dull in front of dating Jennifer Lopez. In reply, the 2009 World Series Champion said, “This is they should clear out, a special wing of the Hall of Fame for that alone.” Then, with laughter and applause, he continued, “I do have an opportunity to learn from those mistakes and maybe, hopefully, Hall of Fame Father, Hall of Fame son, boyfriend, everything else.”

These funny chats created laughter in the audience and the two participants. However, these lines made it clear that this MLB star desires a Hall of Fame, and if not as a baseball player, he is ready to enter it in every other means.

The Hall of Fame is open to all renowned baseball players, and in that sense, Alex Rodriguez is one of the strongest contenders of it. Unfortunately, this brilliant all-rounder was accused of using Performance-enhancing drugs during MLB games, which he admitted in 2013, causing him a PED suspension for the entire 2014 season. Though he returned in 2015, it has cost the player his reputation and $40 million in compensation.

According to the New York Post, Rodriguez was first time eligible to enter the Hall of Fame in 2021 but received only 34.3% votes, which would be nearly 135 votes, while the criteria is 75%. The last year’s ballot was also not very hopeful for the legend. Though his votes increased to 35.7%, he is still away from his dream to be in HoF.
