Live polls can be rather uncomfortable. They unveil outcomes without any form of filtering, potentially leading to embarrassment for even the most esteemed or legendary individuals. On occasion, the hosts of a show find themselves grappling with the most awkward of results, as was evident during the Sunday Night episode of ESPN’s renowned baseball show, Kay Rod Cast.

Being in its second season, Kay Rod Cast is joined by the Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez this season. During Sunday’s episode, the hosts asked the audience to participate in a poll, whose outcome ultimately came out as embarrassing.

Audience Votes Unsettled Michael Kay and Alex Rodriguez in the Live Show

On Sunday, the K-Rod show telecasted the game between the San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves. At a point, the hosts asked the audience to vote for their favorite part among the selected options, including Michael Kay, Alex Rodriguez, The Guests, The Tweets, The Laughs, John Olerud.

As the poll has A-Rod’s name, most people thought he would win the poll, but when the results came out, it was not only surprising but also embarrassing for the hosts, especially for sports broadcaster, Michael Kay. Awful Announcing put up a tweet that read, “It’s tough out there sometimes.”

While no one received the majority, The Guests won the poll with 44% votes. Whereas the MLB legend came second with 21% votes. This gap is significant enough for a celebrity figure like Alex Rodriguez. However, what is more shocking is that Michael Kay is at the bottom of the list with only 6% votes.

Given A-Rod’s prominent stature, it’s surprising that other contestants received more votes from the audience. As a result, fans have been trying to determine why he got only 21% of the votes. Probably, the disheartened audience cast their anger on him for leaving the show.

After retirement, this 2009 World Series Champion has appeared as a guest and host on different shows. One instance is his been working as an MLB Analyst for Fox Sports for a long time. Later in 2022, he joined ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball Games telecast. However, the 48-Year-Old is close to extending his contract with FOX, which will eventually put his ESPN ties at rest.

Although the exacts details of the partnership remain vague, it is reported to be an exclusive three-year deal. As a result of which the 14x All-Star will step out of ESPN deal post this season. Probably, the Sunday’s Poll likely revealed the anger and dissatisfaction among fans that has emerged due to this situation.
