In a recent interview with Insider Hook, Rodriguez spoke at length about his take on the ongoing post-season proceedings. His answers are simply noteworthy. 

Former New York Yankees star turned businessman, known for his great insights has given quite a riveting opinion about rival Houston Astros. A prowess that can’t be ignored turned into a scare for other teams in the playoffs. A curiosity-inducing perspective indeed!

Upon being asked about what he thinks of the playoff predictions, the 14-time All-Star spoke from the perspective of the American League. No matter how the results pan out, he is strongly rooting for an elimination. A-Rod elaborated, “If you’re in the American League, you have to be rooting hard for the Astros to get eliminated. No matter how they’ve played down the stretch, their level of play in October over the last seven or eight years has been second to none. I think experience is best utilized in October. The Astros have been incredible there.” With that, he left people with mixed feelings about the playoffs.

In a game, the health of players and their lineups is essential. Both elements of the three teams have been taken care of. He summed up his answer succinctly calling them, “the perfect hybrid of very pioneering, progressive, analytical front offices and the human element”. Speaking of analytics, he had more thoughts to share.

Rodriguez Reveals which side he leans considering his love for analytics

Alex Rodriguez, with his business expertise, is not one to belittle analytics. However, he is also a strong advocate of maximizing heart and character. Elaborating on his view he said, “I’m not saying you need one or the other. I think you need both and to have leadership that understands how to maximize both sides”. Isn’t this a typical A-Rod answer?

As he went on, he shared his viewpoint on how much admiration he has for Reggie Jackson and Gene Michael who were monumental in building the championship run in the ’90s with the New York Yankees. The Yanks still stand as his go-to team, his reference says it all.
