Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a season where they won a fantastic 92 regular season games. Unfortunately, they ended up being swept into the Wild Card Round in the postseason. But there was one silver lining throughout the season. The emergence of starting pitcher Alek Monoah and his development as a rising star.

In only his second year in the Major League, Manoah was an All-Star while recording some fantastic stats. Furthermore, he is only 25 years old and has a lot of room to grow. But one journalist recently criticized the Blue Jays star pitcher and Manoah has something to say about it.

Toronto Blue Jays star pitcher hits back at MLB Network Analyst

A video of MLB Analyst Anthony Recker criticizing Alek Manoah has made its way to Twitter. In the video, Recker seemingly criticizes Manoah’s work ethic. The MLB Network Analyst says, “Show me you’re willing to put in a little more time in the gym.” The Blue Jays pitcher has reacted to the video, and he’s not happy. Manoah highlights the video on Twitter and hits back at Recker.

In the Tweet, Manoah says, “Hey @Anthony_Recker my job isn’t to please you. You are an outsider you don’t know me or my work ethic. What I do in the gym has clearly worked check the numbers, sucks you can’t say the same for yourself.” The Blue Jays ace seemed really upset by Recker’s words. Furthermore, he was angry that Recker made an assumption without seeing the work that was put in.

Manoah looked fantastic in the 2022 MLB season and it’s understandable that he’s upset by statements questioning his work ethic. The Blue Jays ace has always had a fiery personality and once even confronted a cocky fan. But Manoah recently showed another side of himself as he gave back to kids in his community.

Alek Manoah organized a camp for the young baseball players in his hometown

Alek Manoah recently held the second edition of his annual camp at South Dade Senior High School. According to MLB.com, “Manoah started the camp last year to help provide South Florida baseball players with access to the best training and advice”

Approximately 100 young baseball players showed up for the camp held by the Blue Jays pitcher. They all got advice, coaching, and a lot of amazing memories to take away. So even though he may be facing criticism for his time in the gym, Manoah remembers what’s important.
