A towel that halted Alek Jacob’s MLB debut

Making a debut is a memorable moment for any baseball player. But for Padres’s Alek Jacob, an umpire intervention added more to it. It happened when Jacob was about to make his first MLB pitch. Umpire stopped him from having a towel in his pocket.

Jomboy Media shared a Twitter post related to this incident. They captioned it,” Alek Jacob is facing the first batter of his MLB career and the umpire asks him to remove something from his back pocket in the middle of the at-bat.”

Though they allowed Alek to pitch later. He pitched 0.1 innings and claimed one strikeout at an ERA of 0.00. It was a great start on the mound, but fans were not happy with how it unfolded. Reacting to it, fans shared their disagreements.

MLB fans call out umpires for poor decision making
