Notably, the meeting came amidst the stellar season for Acuna where he has dominated the plate. It has made him another challenger in the race for the MVP award.

In 114 games of the season, Acuna has scored 102 runs, 26 HRs, with 70 RBIs. He has an average of 0.337 and an OPS of 1.000 and is tied for third in the league on both these parameters.

Given all these, he has become a fan favorite. This also dominated their reactions while addressing his meeting with Albert Pujols.
