Can Stanton's relentless pursuit of the World Series trophy redefine his legacy in Yankees history?

“There is no substitute for hard work”, a quote by Thomas Edison that continues to inspire millions. As the ALCS has shaped up, it seems, Giancarlo Stanton is one of them. Notably, the New York Yankees faithful star was on the receiving end for his work rate and contribution to the team last season. But the situation has changed for him, with only showers of love falling, and the chances of them are getting higher if the latest stats are concerned.

The 34-year-old had a poor 2023 season with a negative WAR. However, Stanton has now surpassed Babe Ruth with formidable performances this postseason. Given the stature of Ruth, beating him is a tremendous achievement for the Yankees’ designated hitter. But he is not done yet, Giancarlo Stanton has proved you can achieve anything by believing in yourself. Following this very principle, the DH has become the fourth most successful player in the pinstripe’s history.

With his game-tying HR against the Cleveland Guardians, Stanton moved past Babe Ruth and Aaron Judge with 16 HRs against 15. And now, he is just four HRs away, matching captain clutch Derek Jeter, and six HRs away from topping the list by defeating legendry Bernie Williams. So, it looks like the ALCS MVP is looking for the same, and instead of celebrating the American League Pendent, Giancarlo’s eyes are set on a bigger goal.

Giancarlo Stanton’s ultimate goal: World Series 2024 trophy.

It was a happy dugout after the New York Yankees stormed past the Guardians’ challenge to win the ALCS. Every player was celebrating the trophy, but Giancarlo Stanton was not. As the Yanks made it to the World Series, for the first time since 2009, this move from Stanton is surprising. However, there is a reason for it – the 2024 ALCS star wants to win the World Series trophy and is focused only on that. He said, ” This ain’t the trophy I want. I want the next one.”
