After Inviting Sporting Elite, MLB Legend Derek Jeter Adds Television Royalty to His Star-Studded Turn 2 Foundation Event

Derek Jeter has raised millions of dollars through his Turn 2 Foundation over the years. The New York Yankees legend has hosted many fundraising events to get people involved and collect donations. He puts this money to good use, helping the youth in his community. From May 11th to 13th, he is hosting the Derek Jeter Invitational. Most recently, he announced some top actors would join the attendees.

It is set to be a massive event that is being hosted at the Baha Mar resort for the second year in a row. Jeter announced that Grammy-winning musician Busta Rhymes is performing and top DJ D-Nice will play a set as well. But this recent announcement adds some heavyweight acting talent to the guest list.

Derek Jeter has invited some top actors and top entertainment personalities to his Invitational event

Derek Jeter and his Turn 2 Foundation have been hyping up the Derek Jeter Invitational event for the last couple of weeks. With top musicians, DJs, and other entertainers performing at the event, the Yankees legend announced another set of big names to be at the event. He did so in an Instagram Story that he recently shared.

In the story, he confirmed that actors Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, and Jerry Ferrara will be attending. Furthermore, MLB sportscaster and reporter Heidi Watney will also be in attendance. To top it off, American media personality and former NFL star Michael Strahan will also be at the event.

These are some of the latest celebrities to join the already star-studded event. Last year’s event raised more than $1 million for the Turn 2 Foundation. This year’s event is likely to raise a similar amount, if not more. Notably, all the money goes toward a variety of programs and workshops hosted by Jeter’s Foundation. The Yankees legend hosts multiple events throughout the year and depends on his family for help.

During his career, Derek Jeter heavily depended on his family to help run the Turn 2 Foundation. But since his sister Sharlee took over as President of the Foundation, she has streamlined a lot of the processes. She is also responsible for expanding the Foundation to what it is today. Since his MLB retirement, Derek and Sharlee have worked together to execute the mission and purpose of the Turn 2 Foundation and take it to new heights.
