Game 5 of ALCS was a game for the ages, where the baseball world watched as the drama unfolded on the diamond. In a tense moment during the game, tempers flared, and a bench-clearing incident resulted in Bryan Abreu being suspended for two games. Garcia reacted, and took on Astros catcher Marti Maldonado, leading to empty benches. The six umpires held Abreu?s act intentional. He was immediately ejected with Garcia and Houston manager Dusty Baker. Houston pitcher Matt Bush, McCullers won?t be allowed to sit in the dugout for the remaining ALCS.

?Houston Astros reliever Bryan Abreu plans to officially appeal his 2-game suspension today. It remains unknown whether the hearing will be before or after a potential Game 7 of the ALCS. If Astros win tonight, Abreu could be suspended 1 or 2 games of the World Series,? tweeted USA TODAY Sports columnist, Bob Nightengale.

Abreu’s status was uncertain for Game 7 on Monday night as the Abreu’s hearing was scheduled before John Mchale Jr., special assistant to commissioner Rob Manfred. Houston might have to pay a huge price if the suspension is upheld and ruling enforced. In this case, he won?t be able to pitch in the Game 7. Sadly, if this turns out to be the case, the team can?t even have a replacement on the active 26-player roster. However, he pitched on Game 6, the next game after the controversial act, as per the rules.

Astros’ Manager Revealed His Plans Regarding Abreu Post Game 6

Following his team’s 9-2 loss in Game 6, Astros manager Dusty Baker commented, ?That could be a huge blow. I thought about using him two innings today, had the decision been made. But you?d hate to have the fine and the suspension go past tomorrow and then I wouldn?t have had Abreu tomorrow, had he gone two innings.?
