Adam McKay is a popular comedian and filmmaker. McKay once directed Jeter in a feature film. It was a film titled, ‘The Other Guys,’ made back in 2009. Interestingly, Jeter had just come fresh off a World Series victory back then.

The Filmmaker, Adam McKay, is an award-winning filmmaker who has received critical acclamation for his works. Some of his world-renowned films include- ‘The Big Short’, ‘Vice’, and ‘Don’t Look Up’. McKay approached Jeter for a brief appearance in the film, ‘The Other Guys’ in 2009. The World Series champion Jeter’s attitude left McKay awestruck.
Talking about Jeter in an interview with MTV, McKay said, “The crazy thing is (the Yankees) won the World Series, and we’re shooting a scene about 10 days afterward. I’m like, ‘How does this guy come off that? There must be crazy parties, he must be exhausted and then show up and have his lines memorized?’ Sure enough, he was there and he was game.”

McKay further added, “Professional athletes tend to fall into one of two categories. They’re either super-conceited and standoffish, or they can be sweet and nice. He’s definitely a sweet guy, very unpretentious.”

Jeter pulled down the curtains on his playing theater in 2014. He joined the ownership group of the Miami Marlins in 2017. He served in an administrative post as the CEO and co-owner of the franchise until 2022. Jeter appeared in the docuseries titled ‘The Captain’ this year.
