New York sports fans are a superstitious bunch. So, when the New York Yankees dropped two straight games following Aaron Rodgers’ appearances at Yankee Stadium, whispers of a potential ‘curse’ began circulating. Is the Jets’ quarterback unwittingly bringing bad luck to the Bronx Bombers?

Rodgers’ first visit came on May 20th, where he was a guest of Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman. The atmosphere seemed lighthearted – cameras caught Rodgers sporting a Yankees hat and chatting with friends, even prompting some playful commentary about his focus on the game. Unfortunately, that lightheartedness didn’t translate to the field, as the Yankees fell to the Seattle Mariners 5-4.

Undeterred, Rodgers returned to Yankee Stadium just a few days later. This time, the Yankees were facing off against the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays. Perhaps hoping to break any potential curse, fans in attendance might have felt a glimmer of optimism.  But alas, the baseball gods seemed unmoved. The Yankees suffered another frustrating loss, this time by a score of 7-3.

Now, a two-game losing streak might seem like a blip on the radar for a team like the Yankees. But considering their aspirations for a World Series run, any loss stings. And with Rodgers present for both defeats, the narrative of a potential jinx becomes undeniably intriguing.

Of course, this is all in good fun. However, it’s proof of the passion of New York sports fans that even a lighthearted observation like Rodgers’ lack of focus on the game can morph into a full-blown ‘curse’ narrative.

So, will Rodgers continue his visits to Yankee Stadium? Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure – if the Yankees start racking up wins again, fans might just forget all about this little ‘jinx’.
