Jack Curry from YES Network cleared the air. His tweet set off a discussion among fans that was a combination of skepticism and relief. The tweet said, “Judge was lifted after 2 at bats while other regulars had 3 or 4 at bats. But Boone said he always planned to lift Judge after 2 at bats and replace him with Grisham. Judge echoed those sentiments. “I told him I’m good with 2,” he said.”

The most feared bat in the Bronx is Judge’s. But when it comes to spring training, one can’t say for sure. On one hand, there is the need for players like Trent Grisham to get the regular 3 or 4 at bats. On the other the fans are just witnesses to the Manager’s decision. So, when an unexpected change happens, the fans are quick to get anxious. And, that’s how rumors are born.
There’s a long season ahead. And the Yankees are likely prioritizing Judge’s health in addition to of course managing his workload. Yes, two at-bats might seem like a small sample size. But it is important to remember that spring training is about getting players prepared without burning them out. The players must be fit before the regular season even begins. With these perspectives combined, the fans had a lot to share.

Though fans understand that this is just spring training, they feel concerned about Judge.
Are we at all concerned with his lackluster performance so far this spring @JackCurryYES I know it’s ST, but it almost seems like he isn’t seeing the ball. Too many strikeouts on too few pitches and a BA just above .125
