When will Aaron Judge get his World Series ring? That’s the burning question following Judge’s 2024 season. He is undeniably one of the leading performers in the MLB circuit and won MPV in 2024 but what matters the most to the fans is his dismal postseason run. Judge wrapped up his historic regular season, but his postseason stint was very underwhelming. Now, his regular season performance is getting overshadowed by his postseason stint.
Remember his infamous ball drop in game 5 in the 2024 World Series against the Dodgers? Sadly, that one incident now defines the entire 2024 run of Aaron Judge. However, should he be judged based only on his postseason stint, or as an overall performer?
It’s the World Series that matters and that’s the reality of it. Legends are often remembered for their World Series rings. Remember Adrian Beltre? He was a bonafide legend but without a World Series. Judge’s numbers stack up to those of baseball greats, his lack of any World Series rings creates the buzz. Reacting to the same, one fan wrote on X, “You are correct. Because that’s what matters”, indicating how important the World Series is among the fans.

Yankees analyst Talkin’ Yanks also chimed in on X, “Judge had one of the best seasons in the history of baseball hasn’t come through, haven’t heard it since”, referring to how good Judge was in the 2024 regular season. For the unversed, Aaron Judge completed his 2024 regular season with a .322 batting average and 58 HRs. He got his second MVP award and fourth Silver Slugger award as well, which defines his above-par performance in 2024. But unfortunately, it’s almost as if no one is talking about it. Paying a total of 54 games in his playoff career and not getting a single World Series ring is difficult for the fans to accept.

Reacting to the discussion around his postseason performance, Judge said, “Guys around me are doing their job, getting on base, and I’m failing them, not backing them up”. So yes, it is not something that Judge is doing intentionally but his over-aggressive batting at the plate is making him prone to swing and miss. Hence, till Judge gets a World Series ring, his regular season performance will continue to be overshadowed. Nevertheless, it would be very unfair to someone like Judge to not acknowledge his regular season especially his historic 2024.

Aaron Judge: The regular season hero
Leading the 2024 regular season in terms of HRs (58), RBIs (144), WAR (10.8), and OBP (.458) is not an easy feat and Aaron Judge achieved it in one go. Expectedly, he got selected as the cover athlete for the 2025 Topps Baseball Series One. So yes, his 2024 regular season was nothing less than historic and his postseason stint should be discussed but not to ridicule his greatness. There is no doubt that the postseason is the most important feat to achieve but judging based on overall performance is something that needs to be promoted.
There are HOFamers without the World Series title. Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived, got short of any World Series ring but still got selected for the HOF. So there is nothing wrong in acknowledging the regular season performance of Aaron Judge and just that his postseason achievement will be the icing on the cake. Judge is all there with the Yankees and 2025 can be the year of ending his October streak.
