Aaron Judge joined the long list of injured Yankees players after suffering a hip strain. But team manager Aaron Boone offered a positive update after it was made public that Judge was practicing his swing. Judge starting swinging soon after being put on the injury list bodes well for the Yankees. He said that he was unsure of how long it would take for the star outfielder to recover. But that it was a close decision.

Furthermore, he mentioned that Judge’s return process will be ramped up during the weekend so he can return early next week. Talkin’ Yanks shared a video of Boone’s statement on Judge via Twitter.

In the video, the Yankees’ manager said, “I think it’s that progression over the next several days. Like, that’s why we were holding out, ’cause it was a close decision. It’s like, is he gonna be back all the way Friday or Saturday? Not sure. So, that’s where the decision lied, but he’s, you know, we’ll be ramping him up through the weekend to kind of get him prepared for early next week.”

The Yankees are suffering because of their off-season

This past off-season, the New York Yankees failed to put good players around Aaron Judge. They added Carlos Rodon and Tommy Kahnle as free agents while re-signing players that were out of contract.

This left them with a similar roster to last season and questions marks in multiple positions. Furthermore, injuries have ravaged the Yankees’ roster, leaving them in desperate waters.
