New York Yankees fans have been subject to poor results in recent weeks. The team has been on a nosedive since captain Aaron Judge got injured. Their batting has been abysmal since then. Most recently, the Yankees’ poor play continued as Shohei Ohtani showed off his MVP-level form.

The Bronx Bombers have lost many games during Judge’s absence, and that trend continues. But in their most recent game, Ohtani’s clutch performance also played a part in the unfavorable result for the Yankees.

Without Aaron Judge, the Yankees have become one of MLB’s worst teams. They have fallen out of the postseason race and are bottom of the AL East, having matched an unwanted record. In today’s game vs. Los Angeles Angels, the team faced a close 4-3 defeat, as Shohei Ohtani put in a clutch performance.

The Japanese star got three hits, including a game-tying home run in the seventh inning. This was a massive loss for the Bronx-based team, as the Angels were supposed to be an easy opponent.

A Twitter user, That Sports Guy, pointed out a rather alarming Yankees fact after the game. In a Tweet, they said, “Yankees are now 15-20 since the Aaron Judge injury”.

This has been one of the worst form periods for the team, as they hope for Judge to recover quickly. Fortunately, the Yankees’ captain recently took batting practice for the first time since injury.

Seeing how the Bombers bounce back from this defeat will be interesting. Furthermore, with the trade deadline nearing, the team must pull off some moves to improve. One name that they have been linked with is none other than Ohtani himself.
