The New York Yankees have tried their best to not miss a beat despite a glaring gap. The gap? The absence of their ace, Gerrit Cole. While their potent offense continues to deliver, the starting rotation too has held its own. An important factor in this success comes to light.  Star slugger Aaron Judge reveals that in a recent conversation with the press.

First of all, there’s no downplaying the impact of Cole’s absence. He’s widely considered the “best pitcher in baseball” and Captain All Rise says it too. His presence on the mound brings a sense of security to the entire team. But the team makes up for his absence with depth and resilience. But how long can the show go on without ‘Cole Train’?

Well, the Yankees haven’t let Cole’s injury derail their momentum. Judge said, “That’s what it’s all about, you know, especially with the offense we have and the starters”. There is no doubt that their offense has shone brightly in the past few games. However, the fact that they are able to pull off great performances despite Cole being absent is another story altogether.

The Captain further explained, “we’re missing the best pitcher in baseball and your staff is still able to do that, it speaks volumes with the guys we got.” Clearly, the captain believes in the team’s powerful offense and a deep pitching staff.

The starting rotation, without Cole, has stepped up to the challenge. And Judge pointed out how the team has really come together in this situation. “We can go out there, put up a couple of zeros, let the offense work and good things are gonna happen,” Judge said. He’s evidently impressed with how the other pitchers have filled the void.

Judge’s comments underscore the depth of the Yankees’ pitching staff. On one hand, Cole’s return will undoubtedly be a welcome addition. On the other, the team has proven capable of winning games without him as well. It is this depth and resilience that could prove crucial in the highly competitive season of 2024.

With Cole expected to return soon, the Yankees’ pitching staff is all set to become even more formidable. Combined with their electric offense, the Bronx Bombers are aiming to be a serious contender for a World Series title. And while they do miss their ace, Judge’s praise for the current staff is a proof of the talent and determination within the pinstripes.
