Aaron Judge Once Vowed a Rare Moment Where He Shed Tears Was “Going to the Grave With Me”

Whatever people may say to the contrary, weddings make almost everyone cry. The reasons may be different, but it’s still common to see everyone, from the brides or grooms to the audience, shed a tear or two. The onlookers may tear up because they’re family and witnessing an emotional but happy moment. Or they may be crying at the fate of the couple who have decided to tie themselves to each other for eternity.

Of course, the brides or grooms are among the first ones to get blurry-eyed. Seeing their wife or husband-to-be, walking down the aisle dressed in their best, ready to officially be bonded together. It’s enough to make anyone weep. Men may have a steely reputation, but their wedding day is the one day they get a free pass to experience their emotions to the fullest. And the newest Yankees captain Aaron Judge sure shed a few tears when he got married to Samantha Bracksieck.

Aaron Judge will take his teary wedding photo to the grave

Being high school sweethearts, Judge and Bracksieck tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii in Dec. 2021. Judge had been going around telling everyone that he would stay strong and get through the moment dry-eyed. But things didn’t quite go according to plan, and photographers caught him in the act.

Taking on the R2C2 podcast, the Yankee described how emotional he got when Bracksieck walked down the aisle. “When I saw her coming down the aisle, the photographers didn’t have my back; they caught me. They got me, but I couldn’t resist it. You got so many different emotions flowing, it kind of hits you all at once, so it was pretty special,” he told hosts CC Sabathia and Ryan Ruocco.

And when ending the talk, Ruocco mentioned he would love to see the photo with the whales in the background. But Judge laughed, “Oh no, that’s going to the grave with me. Nobody’s getting that picture.”

What was the couple’s dreamy wedding setup with whales in Hawaii?

The island of Maui is breathtaking, to say the least. Surrounded by natural beauty, it’s a haven with dreamlike landscapes and lush green surroundings. The happy couple has a history with the place and no other destination would have been more perfect to start their journey together. And they chose one of the best times to get married in the Pacific Ocean.

He mentioned in the interview, “What’s crazy is that during the whole ceremony, I guess right behind us in the water, was just pods of whales. Like breaching and coming through. I was locked in on her so I didn’t see anything…It was unreal.”
