But this wasn’t always the case, as even he started as a rookie. Like most rookies, Judge had a player that he looked up to and it was none other than Derek Jeter.
Back in his younger days, Judge revealed what he would ask his idol for if given the opportunity.

The then-young Yankee revealed that he’d want merchandise signed by The Captain. Notably, Aaron Judge had not received Jeter’s autograph at the time, despite being a prospect for the Pinstripes.
Aaron Judge wished to get signed bats and balls from his idol Derek Jeter
Back in 2014, when Judge was yet to make it to the big leagues, he admitted his love and admiration for the Yankees legend. He said that he’d want autographed balls and bats from Derek Jeter. This was in response to a question that he was asked on an episode of Yes or No on the YES Network.
He was asked “If you could ask anybody a question and you were guaranteed a yes. What would the question be? And who would you ask it to? Judge replied to the question by saying “I’d probably ask Derek Jeter if I could have a few bats signed and balls.”

When talking about the current scenario, Judge recently signed a new contract with the pinstripes and will most likely spend the rest of his career with the team. Furthermore, he may be the first person since Jeter to get this legendary position.
Judge may become the first Yankees captain since Jeter
Recent reports suggest that Aaron Judge may be named the next captain of the Yankees. Veteran MLB insider Bob Nightengale also confirmed that if things do not go north, the Judge might wear the captain badge on his uniform. In a tweet, Nightengale said “The #Yankees have yet to make it official but Aaron Judge will be wearing a C on his chest for the next nine years. He will be named captain of the Yankees.”
