Yes, you read that right, Alex Rodriguez helped Aaron Judge during his rookie year. According to Judge, the retired Yankee star gave him advice that helped him improve during his rookie season. Judge was named AL Rookie of the Year in 2017 and opened up on A-Rod’s advice. He said that Rodriguez told him to always have his moment and find other ways to contribute apart from his batting.
Judge said this in an interview “It’s one thing that actually Alex Rodriguez talked to me a little bit about in Spring Training this year. Which is have your moment, you know have your moment in the game. It could be either you take an extra base, you know on a first to third when we’re cutting the ball off in the gap. You know, hold a runner to a single or making the play on defense. Anything you can do, if you’re not swinging it that day.”

It has been a long time since 2017 and Judge has achieved a lot since that moment. Most recently Judge has been in the news for his 9-year $360 million deal and being named the New York Yankees Captain. Derek Jeter himself was present when Judge was named Captain. Some people have expressed doubt over Judge’s contract but A-Rod believes it was the right move.

While appearing on The Herd With Colin Cowherd, A-Rod said that the Yankees re-signing AaronJudge was an easy decision. But that the team should have done it years ago. He went on to say that the Yankees should have signed him for less money a few years ago and put more pieces around him.

The retired Yankee legend also stated that nothing has changed in Judge’s character over the last few years.
