Aaron Judge, the towering force of the New York Yankees, has been making headlines in 2023 with his long-missed presence on the diamond. Despite a prolonged stint on the injured list, the Yankees captain has proved to everyone why he is the reigning MVP in the league.
After missing nearly two months of games because of his ligament injury, Judge’s chances to retain his MVP were almost nil. However, things are taking a u-turn lately, and if things do not go south, the 6’7″ slugger may beat his MVP rival Shohei Ohtani once again.

The ongoing 2023 has not been kind to Judge. The Yankees’ main man has faced adversity with an extended stay on the injured list. Not only did the team suffer during his sabbatical, but also his body went through a tough time recovering from consecutive hip and toe injuries. But the Pinstriper is not one to give excuses.

In a recent chart that surfaced on Twitter, Talkin’ Yanks revealed the home run leaderboard displaying the top 5 hitters. To everyone’s surprise, Judge positioned at what looked like a really close 4th. In addition, it is impossible to miss Judge inching closer to Ohtani, proving he is ‘absolutely unreal’.
It is noteworthy that last week in another chart, the 31-year-old tied for 4th with Rafael Devers of the Boston Red Sox. Both stood at 29 homers. As the current chart shows, the Bronx Bomber has surpassed the Red Sox slugger earning the 4th position solely. What is more nail-biting is how Ohtani’s incorrigible image as the MVP might just be at risk of seeing Aaron’s comeback.

Judge proved it earlier this year when he said, “It would be exciting for the game if we went out there and got 63-plus. So, we’ll see what happens.”
