Even though Aaron Judge never disappoints on the field, according to South Shore Little League skipper Bob Laterza, he has disappointed his young fans post-game. The Yankees and Detroit Tigers attended the Little League World Series game. The Yankees, including Judge, were supposed to have a special meet-and-greet with the Little Leaguers at the International Grove, where the team was staying. However, things didn’t go as planned, and the encounter didn’t turn out quite as expected.
Whether it’s WNBA star Caitlin Clark or the New York kids dreaming of becoming baseball stars, everyone seems eager to meet the Yankees’ captain. However, according to Bob Laterza, the captain wasn’t available after the game, which left the young fans feeling pretty let down. “They were disappointed,” Laterza said, also suggesting that Judge should come back sometime to meet them, maybe again. Well, was he angry at the entire team? No. Even though Aaron Judge was missing, other Yankees stars like Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes, and Jason Dominguez, as well as manager Aaron Boone, were there and took the time to meet with the fans
However, the young ones were hoping their seats behind home plate would give them a chance to interact with Aaron Judge in the on-deck circle. However, Laterza said that No. 99 seemed to ignore the kids shouting his name from just 10 to 20 feet away. This left the South Shore coach quite frustrated, and he expressed his disappointment by saying, “How about turning around or waving to New York and the kids that think you’re a hero? They are the ones who pay your salary.”

While the young fans were left disappointed, hoping for a moment with Aaron Judge behind home plate, it turns out the 32-year-old baseball star was also feeling something similar!
Where was Aaron Judge then?
While Bob Laterza was criticizing him for not taking out time, the Yankees’ captain also expressed a bit of regret about not spending more time with the kids. After the Yankees’ 3-2 loss, Judge said, “I wish we had more time to hang out with the kids. We were rushed around a bit.” No wonder things were so hectic for the Bronx. When they arrived at Lamade Stadium, the scene was like something out of a fan’s dream. Kids swarmed Judge as he made his way up from the bus.

As Judge inched forward, he kept stopping to sign autographs and pose for photos. It was like a constant balancing act—he’d sign an item, then quickly shift to take a selfie, often holding a fan’s cell phone himself. Talk about multitasking under pressure!
With the Yankees going all solid this year, could Bob Laterza’s comments have an impact on the Yankees’ morale? Perhaps it could or could Aaron Judge find a way to lower the Coach’s anger? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
