Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo: The best bromance in sports today? What do you think?

The US Open just kicked off, and it’s a star-studded affair. Many celebrities have made their way to USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to enjoy the games, including Kerry Washington, Jessica Biel, Vera Wang, and more. Among them are also MLB stars Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo. Now, it is tough for the New York Yankees stars to get a break, after all, they played 162 games in six months. So, the duo sure did make good use of their day off, but weren’t alone at the event–rather, they joined in with their partners.

Judge was papped by the media, escorting his wife Samantha to the venue; Rizzo, too, was spotted with his wife, Emily Vakos. They were joined by Volpe and Giancarlo Stanton, later on. The entire group had plenty of fun watching Karolina Muchova take on Naomi Osaka. Muchova secured a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) victory over Osaka! From taking photographs and sharing laughs to enjoying drinks, the group had a blast. While fans loved seeing them having a gala time, Aaron Judge’s outfit choice was another trending topic for sure!

Aaron Judge believe it or not — wears pinstripes even on his off day! While it’s not exactly the New York Yankees jersey, he still rocked a pinstripe casual shirt for his day out. Talk about staying on a brand! He was spotted having a great time with his wife Samantha, teammate Rizzo, and his partner. But did you know that it is somewhat of a tradition for the Yankees icon to enjoy his tennis game with his wife? Judge has been making it a bit of a tradition to enjoy the US Open with his wife for the past two years, and this time was no different.

In 24 games so far in the month, he’s slashed .415/.556/.927, 12 home runs, and 24 RBIs, including a pair of stolen bases. Currently, he is leading the majors with 51 homers and a .467 on-base percentage. With a number so staggering, he is on pace to break his own AL record of 62 homers. Aaron Judge is also the frontrunner for the coveted MVP award. Oddsmakers have placed him at -3000 odds to win the award; and if he does, it will be his second time winning it. Judge has strong competition coming in from Bobby Witt Jr., however, if he can keep this pace, it’s not going to be easy to stop him from taking that win. Aaron will be back to action this Friday as the Yankees face the St. Louis Cardinals.

Have an interesting take?

The New York Yankees had their stellar first-baseman missing from the lineup since June–Anthony Rizzo. He was sidelined from the lineup because he suffered a fractured right arm injury. However, given that he was seen all good and pain-free with Judge at the tennis event and they even posed for a group picture, seems the recovery is going smoothly.

James Ramson, the hitting coach of the team, is early looking forward to Rizzo making a comeback, as soon as he possibly can. Ramson told the New York Post, “It adds to what we have, and we’re looking for depth right now. So the more depth the better. We know the value of Rizzo, especially a healthy Anthony Rizzo. We know what he can do to help with this final push, so I’m super excited for him to come back, the sooner, the better.”

Before Rizzo ended up on the injured list, he endured a tough 29-game stretch, posting just a .430 OPS and with only three extra-base hits. Moreover, his absence has left the team vulnerable to right-handed pitching, and this in turn put plenty of pressure on Ben Rice to step up his game. But Rice has been showing some promise at Double-A Somerset, where he clinched a home run, two walks, and four strikeouts. Aaron Judge is always seen as active socially and often goes to support other sports. So, it’s definitely not a surprise for Yankee fans to see him not on the court.
