Many wondered if Aaron Judge’s 2022 season would ever be seen again until he made a huge comeback in 2024, winning the second AL MVP award in a unanimous vote. Based on the voting results, Aaron has left behind other players by a huge margin, with accumulated total points of 420, followed by Bobby Witt Jr. and Juan Soto. While Aaron has thanked his well-wishers and fans for their immense support during the voting, his postseason mistakes cannot be ignored either.

Legendary Aaron Judge will soon follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest Yankees in history, including Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle. His impressive home run record and great power positioned him as one of the greatest in the game to wear the Yankees’ jersey. Aaron made 58 home runs and had a batting average of.322 in 2024, for which he received his fourth Silver Slugger Award, too.

The New York Yankees’ icon, Aaron Judge, needs no introduction as his record speaks volumes about his athletic prowess. While many expected similar performance like that of 2022 when he received the MVP for the first time, the captain’s comeback happened in 2024. Judge’s 58 homers are the highest in the league, and it is something crazy to believe.

Aaron, on January 26, said on the Foul Territory, “I am truly humbled to accept the 2024 AL MVP Award. I want to start by apologizing for missing the award dinner this evening. My wife and I are expecting our first child any day.” Judge showed his appreciation for receiving the award; however, he cleared the air of not being present in the award ceremony because he and his wife are expecting their first child soon.

Aaron Judge thanked the Baseball Writers Association and the coaches, teammates, trainer, fans, and the entire organization for their immense support. He went on to share his proud feeling for playing in the greatest city and with his team, which gave him so much.

Does Aaron Judge's MVP win overshadow his costly postseason errors in the World Series?

Have an interesting take?

With an impressive 2024 season, Judge managed to acquire all the 30 first-place votes, thus leading the table by a fair margin and ultimately becoming the seventh Yankees player to win this award for the second time in his career. However, his postseason struggles cannot be ignored, which cost the game against the Dodgers in the 2024 World Series Championship.

The Yankees analysis of Judge’s postseason failure

While Aaron Judge remains one of the most talented stars in MLB, he has been subjected to severe criticism after the New York Yankees failed to register a victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which eventually led to losing the World Series title. While he gave an impressive performance in the regular season, his performance in the postseason had been below par, given that he made a massive defensive error in game number 5.

Aaron even dropped an easy flyer with one out and a runner at first base, which was a major mistake too.

Even after Aaron Judge slashed .322/.458/.701, it was difficult to accept how slowly he got started. He was batting at an average of.197, which was ignored by the manager, Aaron Boone. Although he managed to reach 300 homers, compared to his 2022 MVP campaign, he felt short by 11 points in terms of batting average and 33 points less for the on-base percentage. Thus, despite winning the MVP Award, Aaron’s postseason mistakes affected his celebration, and without a World Series title, it all seemed incomplete.
