The New York Yankees are putting the league on notice. And they’re doing it with three fearsome bats leading the charge. Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and the newly acquired Juan Soto have all hit double-digit home runs making the in 2024. The Yankees are the first team to boast such a potent trio.

This power surge has propelled the Yankees to a scorching six-game winning streak, their longest since September 2022. Manager Aaron Boone isn’t shy about the impact these sluggers are having. He said, “It tells you how much damage we can do.”

Soto put on a show against the Chicago White Sox, going 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs. This breakout performance is a sign of things to come, according to Boone. The manager also says that the big guys (Judge, Stanton, Soto) are carrying a huge load offensively. “Obviously we’re getting big contributions and big production from our big boys right now. Which is, you know, that’s – those are the guys that are going to carry you.”

However, he emphasizes the importance of contributions from the guys that support, up and down the lineup. This well-rounded attack is what separates a good offense from a special one, and Boone sees glimpses of that potential. 

Stanton and emerging fan favorite Jose Trevino also got in on the home run fun, solidifying the Yankees’ place as the MLB leaders in long balls with a whopping 66. Even with ace Gerrit Cole sidelined with injury, the team boasts a dominant pitching staff with a league-leading 2.83 ERA. But it’s the offensive firepower that’s truly turning heads.  With Aaron Judge hitting 12 homers, Stanton, 11, and Soto, 11 homers all firing on all cylinders, the Yankees present a matchup nightmare for opposing teams.

“With those three guys hitting the ball well,” says Soto, “I think it’s just more than enough to win games.” The Yankees skipper also shed light on a change in Soto’s body language before the game against the White Sox. He saw a focused player, locked in and ready to perform. This resulted in Soto’s dominant 4-for-4 performance with two home runs. Boone highlights Soto’s self-awareness and understanding of his hitting mechanics, allowing him to adjust and overcome slumps.

The fans at Yankee Stadium are loving every minute of it. With the power hitting that these three sluggers are bringing to the table, despite the bottom of the line up propelling the team to wins, Boone that the top guys are the ones to take carry the team forward.
