The winds of change are blowing through the Bronx this off-season, with the New York Yankees undergoing a transformation. Many think the biggest change is Aaron Judge being named team captain. But the real change is happening with team Manager Aaron Boone. During Spring Training he experimented with his lineup and played some of his stars at new positions. 

Furthermore, it looks like he is making several changes to the starting lineup, motivated by bad form and injuries. He also seems to have changed his views on media as he ditched his yearly radio deal for something different.

Every year,the New York Yankees Manager signs a six-figure deal to make a weekly radio appearance. Boone would sign with either WFAN or ESPN New York. But this year, he has decided to ditch the radio deal and will instead appear on Jomboy Media’s podcast, ‘Talkin’ Yanks’. MLB Insider Joe Pompliano reported on this huge change via Twitter. 

In a Tweet, Pompliano said, “The Yankees manager typically signs a six-figure deal with a New York radio station to make weekly appearances each season. But this year, Yankees manager Aaron Boone will join @JomboyMedia’s “Talkin’ Yanks” podcast each week.” Boone himself opened up on the decision while speaking with the New York Post. According to the New York Post, Boone said, “it’s a little outside the box, not your typical having your radio shot every week that’s kind of gone on certainly here for a long time.” He further said, “I thought it was a really interesting opportunity and a cool idea.”

This is a massive change for the Yankees manager as he adopts newer media platforms. The ‘Talkin’ Yanks’ podcast will be a fresh avenue for him to share his ideas and processes throughout the season. But Boone is also experimenting with new ideas in his squad selection.

The New York Yankees are in a difficult position at the moment. Their squad has suffered from injuries during Spring Training, limiting their options as the season draws near. He is reportedly going to try using Isiah Kiner-Falefa at the center field this season. Furthermore, fans will see Yankees’ Captain Aaron Judge in the left field
