Is Aaron Boone just making excuses for the Yankees' poor offense, or is there more to it?

The Bronx is experiencing one of its worst stretches in the mid-2024 season. Winning five out of their last twenty games shows their disparity and loss of form.  Despite going high at the 2024 start season, their lowest is visible in the mid-season. Since June 7, the team’s record has gone to 5-13, including 2-8 in terms of their last ten games. Amid the Yankees’ losing games, Aaron Judge had enough attempts to carry the team out of the summer slide. Eventually, the team fell off from first place in the American League East and is now sitting in the second position.

Ultimately, the Yankee’s constant losses started a new fight, and this time, Judge’s captain, Richard Schenck, came into action. He is Aaron’s instructor, and seeing him and the team perform so low, he had bitter thoughts for the Yankees and his apprentice. On the other hand, launching a counter-attack and standing by his team, Aaron Boone had his stances pretty clear, too.

Currently, there are millions of people criticizing the Yankees. But when it’s Aaron Judge’s personal coach doing the same, it has to be concerning. Richard Schenchk took on to Twitter and talked about the team’s offensive player development, saying, “They’ve lost 13 out of 18 while he’s hitting like an MVP, The Yankees offensive player development is terrible.” Judge for the Yankees has been commendable despite the team’s poor form. He sits at an OPS of 1.079 since June 13 and is trying his best to save his team from any major collapse.  Although the statements of Aaron’s coach came as a positive for him, they were a disregard for offensive management.

Just a day later, Bronx manager Aaron Boone spoke with the reporters, shrugging off the coach’s assessment. “People are going to say things, and certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion,” Boone said. “Especially when you go through a tough stretch and you wear this uniform, I know people are going to take shots and things like that.” At the start of the 2024 season, the Yankees were at the top of the leaderboard in the AL East League. Their offensive department, with Judge, Soto, and pitchers, was performing at its peak. However, the team has fallen into a pit hole with the past injuries, especially with Rizzo. Also, the Yankees previously lost an entire 3 match series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Reflecting on the losses and the road ahead, he further said, “You can’t get all consumed with all that stuff. We’ve got enough to worry about, making sure we’re buttoned up and putting our best foot forward every day. So that’s the focus.” Thankfully, after two losses against the Boston Red Sox, the team came back stronger. In their final game against them, the Yankees won 14-4 at Yankee Stadium. However, despite the win, there’s no denying that the Yankees are twirling in a maze of their poorest form of the decade.

Yankees horror show of poor Form in 2024-mid season

Since the last three weeks, the Bronx has been terrible. Even if it was, Anthony Volpe’s missed one run that cost the Yankees the game against the Red Sox. Or, the team’s offensive department is vulnerable, there are holes in the team, that desperately need a fix.

The team’s decline began when the Red Sox won their final two games at Fenway Park from June 15 to 16. Also, the Yankees pitching that looked good was exposed by the Red Sox, as they lost horrendously in both games.  Also, Aaron Boone is trying his best from his end, but with injuries and lack of form, the Yankees might need great composure.  Plus, when their ace player Gerrit Cole returned, the Yankees fans had a sigh of relief. Without him, the Yankees rotation line-up looked exhausted. This shows the team’s dependency on their single players, and with his return, we will see what he has to offer to the Bronx.

Eventually, the Yankees might feel confident after the dominant win against the Red Sox in their last series game. Still, they are under the radar of the fans who are witnessing their team slip from the first position. Also, the team has not led at any point if we count their last 11 losses.  Further, with the offensive department looking pale and starters giving up homers, Aaron Boone might have to think something quick. If that’s not all, Aaron Judge’s coach, Richard Schenchk, out of frustration, has put the icing on the cake for the Bronx. Will the resurgent Yankees turn their season around, or will their form sink further? Let us know your answers in the comments!
