The Baltimore Orioles have been on a fiery hot streak of victory this year. With their 100th win of the season recently clinched, the club is on a warpath. For the first time since 2014, the O’s are ending the season with an AL East title. Having secured a postseason spot for the first time since 2016, Camden Yards has never seen a happier team. The good times are just beginning.
Labeled ‘The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball’, Oriole Park at Camden Yards remains iconic. Opened in 1992, the stadium’s unique architecture which brought back memories of a classic ballpark of the olden times was an instant hit. More than thirty years later, all of Baltimore loves it, as do baseball enthusiasts. But the journey to get here was full of obstacles, which finally culminated in a solution yesterday.

In June 2022, the Angelos family was involved in a nasty lawsuit. Peter, principal owner of the O’s, had been battling an illness and wasn’t involved in the team’s running. One of his sons, John, took up the Chair and Managing Partner title in 2020. But his brother Louis wasn’t too pleased and filed a case against him. The claims had to do with unwieldy measures that John Angelos took to ensure his control over the Baltimore Orioles.
Additionally, Louis Angelos also alleged that his brother would move the team away from Baltimore if he gained full control. But John pledged his allegiance to the club and the city in a lengthy press release, promising that the O’s would forever stay in Charm City. Yesterday, the dream finally became reality, at least for a while.
MASN’s Roch Kubatko announced on X, formerly Twitter, that the team had signed a new 30-year deal at Camden Yards. The previous one was to last until December 31st, and the extension will keep the Orange Birds in Baltimore for the next three decades.

Coming off an 83-79 record in 2022, no one expected the O’s to take the league by storm next year. Until they went on unbelievable winning streaks, stronger than ever.
?Honestly, our goal at the beginning of the year was just to play every game to the best of our ability and just see how the results turned out,? catcher Adley Rutschman said MLB.com. ?It?s tough, because our division is so good, to set our sights on that, because we hadn?t reached that.?
