In 2021, Fernando Tatis Jr. led the National League home run charts. Within two years of his MLB debut, Tatis Jr. had already made two All-Star appearances and was undoubtedly the next big thing. But Tatis recklessly let it go and missed the whole of 2022 due to a PED scandal. Now, Tatis is back, and he’s instantly taken on a long-standing Los Angeles Dodgers veteran, Clayton Kershaw.

Clayton Kershaw made his MLB debut in 2008 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and since then, he’s stuck by them. And 15 seasons in, the 35-year-old hasn’t lost any gas, but all things considered, last evening, Fernando Tatis Jr. did get the better of him.

San Diego Padres’ three-match home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers started last evening, and the Friars didn’t allow the Dodgers a chance with a solid 5-2 victory, with Fernando Tatis Jr. smashing two homers.

Kershaw, on the other hand, was extremely disappointed with his performance as he conceded four runs, and let five batters walk. After the game, Kershaw said, “You just can’t walk five guys. That’s just unacceptable. When you don’t have great command, it makes it challenging no matter what. Usually, that’s not something I have a lot of issues with. But tonight, I didn’t have a great feel. They do a good job. They don’t leave the strike zone. So you have to give them credit, too.”

Bebo hit two homers and batted three runs in. He hit the first homer in the third inning to level the Padres with the Dodgers. The second, two-run homer came in the fifth innings, with one base loaded and the Padres took a 4-1 lead.

Fans were divided. While Padres fans spoke about how Bebo dominated the Dodgers, the scoreboard antic at Petco Park by the Padres wasn’t received well by Dodgers fans, who pretty much worship Kershaw. Notably, Kershaw has been with the Dodgers since 2008, when he made his MLB debut.
