$220 Million Man Derek Jeter Was Once Chastised by an Etiquette Expert After an Expensive Date With Wife Hannah Jeter

Baseball legend Derek Jeter played for the New York Yankees for over two decades. During this time, he signed contracts higher than most of the players in the league. Aside from this, he also got offered various advertisements. The advertisements and his multiple ventures helped him push his net worth to a monstrous value of $220 million. And with such a whopping net worth, it would be a surprise if someone like Jeter can not pay for a whole meal.

Something similar was manifested when the Baseball Hall of Famer went for ‘splitting the check’ with supermodel Hannah Davis, as they enjoyed their romantic date at an exclusive restaurant in Italy.

The former shortstop, who had rumors surrounding him about giving gift baskets to the women he had spent the night with, had gotten himself accused of not being able to pay the bill. During a romantic date in June 2015, the ex-captain pulled out his Amex Black Card to pay for the bill after the two were done with their meals. But when the time came to pay for the after-dinner drinks, Sports Illustrated’s cover girl, Hannah Davis, spent.

In all fairness, Davis was earning $5 million a year. Which was enough for her to get the same Amex Black Card as her beau Jeter. Either to show it off or for any other reason, the supermodel had pulled out that card to pay for the couple’s drinks. When this piece of news got out, the founder of New York’s Etiquette school was one of the most offended people. As the Daily News reported, Patricia Napier-Fitzpatrick said, “It’s outrageous. What an ungentlemanly like thing to do.”

Despite what the social convention says about who pays the bill during the date, the couple decided to ‘go dutch’. But they didn’t know that it would eventually come back and make Jeter a target of the trolls. However, the couple moved forward with this little incident a couple of months after their infamous date in Italy. 

How did Jeter handle the news of this accusation?

In all twenty years of his career, the former shortstop avoided any scandal. Neither did the Hall of Famer speak about anything printed about him. So, he did not say anything about this too. However, that did not stop the Etiquette school’s founder and few other people from speaking their minds about Jeter.

But a couple of months later, in the same fashion of doing everything in a hush-hush way, the sports legend and the supermodel got engaged in November 2015. A year after that, they got married. Since then, they have become parents to three beautiful girls and living their lives peacefully.
