One small good deed goes a long way. Houston Astros’ newly signed first baseman José Abreu did just something similar. American League’s 2020 MVP, Abreu, made his big league debut in 2014 with the Chicago White Sox and stayed until the 2022 regular season. In the nine years with the White Sox, Abreu won many titles. Aside from being MVP in 2020, he won Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Recently, he signed a 3-year deal with the Astros for a whopping $58.5 million. In addition to this, last night, he got introduced at the home ballpark of the Astros’ Minute Maid Park. There, he met a group of third graders on their field trip and gave them VIP handshakes.
José Abreu became the source of happiness to the little bundles of joy
Abreu shook hands with every kid present in the ballpark on their field trip. They were all seated in the dugout. The former White Sox slugger, one by one, made his way to each kid. The expressions on the kids’ faces were priceless. They were as if they met a superhero. With every handshake that he did, almost every kid got left open-mouthed.

Soon as the video of Abreu shaking hands with the kids went up on Twitter, the reactions of those kids meeting the first baseman left smiles on people’s faces. To say that their reactions would be enough to make anyone’s day would not be wrong. The small gesture by Abreu is going to leave a mark on those little kids.
He was and still is one of the best players who came from Cuba and played in MLB. Despite playing in 157 games this season, Abreu did not have a great season this year. He hit a career-low 15 homers, which is exactly half of what he hit in the 2021 season. But it looks like he is going to have a good time with the Astros. And he is off to a good start.
What did the kids’ reactions look like?
Notably, a field trip to the ballpark can be a big deal for primary schoolgoers. And to top it all off, they got to meet an MLB MVP. Well, they sure seemed extremely happy!
Look how happy they are ☺️

Indeed!
Just think of how many kids are going to want to pick up a glove and a bat for Christmas. You just need a little inspiration.
