Aaron Judge did it again. And this time it’s number 60. Last evening, as the New York Yankees took on the Pittsburgh Pirates at Yankee Stadium, Aaron Judge slammed his 60th season homer and trod closer to Roger Maris’ 61.

Judge made his Yankee and MLB debut in 2016. He’s been fastened to the Yankees setup as a star outfielder-slugger since then and has had his fair share of success with 2017 being his most fruitful year. In 2017, he won ‘Rookie of the Year,’ appeared on the All-Star team, won the Silver Slugger Award, and led the American League list of homers. Similarly, he’s topped his 2017 performance in 2022.
The fan who caught Judge’s 60th has a special request
As Judge approaches the first Triple Crown award for a hitter since 2012, he continues his season with a consistent performance in every game. And he did exactly so against the Pirates. He brought to light a comeback in the ninth innings of the game when the Yanks were down 4-8. He sent to ball to the bleachers and in an attempt to catch the ball, there was chaos.

While everyone pounced on each other, 20-year-old Michael Kessler slyly snatched the ball and left while the commotion was at its peak.
In an interview after the game, Kessler discussed the excitement of getting to meet Judge. He said, “I’m excited, very excited.” In conversation, he revealed that he plays as a pitcher and outfielder. Moving on, Kessler added a special request for slugger Judge and said, “Just comeback next year.”

Finally, he concludes by saying, “I just want to give back to Judge, he’s given so much to the organization, just do my part.”

Yankees ft. Aaron Judge in 2022
Ideally, given the way Judge has carried the Pinstripes through 2022, the Yanks can repay him best by generously upping their potential offer to him. The Yanks are currently at the top of the East Division and have secured themselves a postseason berth. Despite a poor slump in August that felt like it would cost the Yanks their postseason, they came out strong.
The grand slam hit by Giancarlo Stanton in the ninth innings of yesterday’s game, when the Yanks were down 5-8, displayed the return of the Yankee magic. And what better timing for this return?

As the postseason comes close with every passing game, the Bronx Bombers should be looking up the World Series ring. While the Astros stand as their biggest threat, they’re still the Yanks.
