14-Time All-Star Alex Rodriguez Once Gave a Glimpse of His Affectionate Nature Playing Catch With an 11-Year-Old Cancer Survivor

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez was a genuine champion in the sport of baseball. His milestones and accolades narrate the might of his playing skills. Therefore, many aspiring baseball players from the younger generation accepted him as a role model. Back in 2015, ‘A-Rod’ fulfilled the wish of an 11-year-old special kid who idolized his sporting greatness.

Rodriguez already gave the impression of a future baseball great while playing for the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers. Notably, a 14-time All-Star player, ‘A-Rod’, rose to the position of sporting esteem while playing for the New York Yankees. The Yankees’ universal popularity and his sparkling star value traveled hand in hand. Rodriguez met up with a kid named Jason Falco, on a special tour of Yankee Stadium in 2015.

Falco was an 11-year-old by the time he got to visit his favorite MLB team’s home ground. He got diagnosed with cancer the previous year. So he went on a visit to the Yankee Stadium alongside his family, courtesy of the famous Brandon Steiner. Rodriguez showed up at once, giving the surprise of a lifetime to Falco.

Alex Rodriguez made an unexpected appearance when Falco was watching some team practice. The incident happened on an episode of Brandon Steiner’s reality show, The Hookup With Brandon Steiner. The show fulfilled the wishes of lucky Yankees fans, chosen randomly. Thus, Falco’s chance came along at once. 

Rodriguez took along Falco for some catching practice at once. Then later, the Pinstripes star took the 11-year-old down to the Yankees clubhouse. ‘A-Rod’ introduced the kid to all of his teammates present there at the moment. More than anything, Rodriguez also gifted a signed baseball bat and his own gloves to Falco.

Speaking at the show later, ‘A-Rod’ said, “Number one, hopefully, we’re not defined by the mistakes that we make. But how we respond and how we come back is what matters as well. And life is a game of mistakes and so is baseball. Someone talked about the 25 grand slams. But I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t got it done. And you have to be inspired by those moments, too.” 

Jason Falco’s life in the present-day context:

Falco has now grown up to become a fine young adult. His inspiring story gave rise to the Jason Falco Foundation. The social organization primarily focuses on raising cancer awareness among children.
