Dating back to the 2016 season, the then-Astros shortstop was a rising star in Major League Baseball. He played the 2016 season after winning the Rookie of the Year. Although Correa was already a hot topic at the time, his 5-year-deal with Adidas brought him into the limelight. And why not? He had dodged Nike to sign the multiyear deal with the German brand.

Per Bleacher Report, in 2016, Carlos Correa (whose net worth is $105 million) moved to Adidas after a $2500 contract with Nike expired in 2015. He signed a five-year endorsements deal with Adidas. The Twins shortstop also pointed out what made him choose Adidas over any other brands.

Correa was clear with his next deal. He believed Adidas presented a new way of thinking about baseball while other brands were still living in the past.

“The decision was simple: because other brands are stuck in the past. My decision to sign with Adidas hinged on the opportunity to define what that future of baseball will look like.”

“They looked for an opportunity to do things in a different way and presented a new way of thinking about baseball, fusing performance and style,” Carlos Correa said in 2016.
