Kevin Durant recently got seen in action. However, it wasn’t inside the basketball court. Durant has mastered the sport of basketball to perfection. But it was a softball game instead, where he got noticed making a display of his skills.

Kevin Durant is a basketball legend who plays in the NBA as a power forward for the Brooklyn Nets. Earlier, he also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder (then Seattle Supersonics) and Golden State Warriors, respectively. In a splendid career so far, Durant has remained a 12-time NBA All-Star player and a two-time league finals champion.

It’s off-season in the NBA currently, but Durant’s trade rumors have not gone off. There are circulations of him departing from the Nets. Nonetheless, there is still time at hand for the beginning of the next season. So he decided to shift his focus to a different ball sport.

Kevin Durant: The All-Star softball player

Kevin Durant has already established a dominant presence on the basketball court. Alongside his towering success in the NBA, he has also proved his mettle on the international stage. Durant is the all-time leader in points for Team USA and a three-time Olympic gold champion.

Every basketball lover is aware of Durant’s ongoing feud with the Nets. He joined the franchise in 2019. However, it seems like he has not enjoyed working with the unit. So with all the ongoing disputes, he is making the best out of the leisurely time at hand, before the new season rings in.

Seeing Durant with the bat at hand in an All-Star softball game, there was another sort of speculation. Some wondered if he would follow in the legendary Michael Jordan’s footsteps. An iconic basketball player, Jordan also tried his hand at playing baseball. He played in the Arizona fall league. Jordan made an MLB appearance for the Chicago White Sox too, against the Chicago Cubs.

On the other hand, Durant is yet to travel the far distance into MLB. He only participated in a charity softball tournament organized by former teammate Mike James. But following failed trade talks in the NBA and a foray into softball, it would be interesting to look ahead to Durant’s future plans.

The road ahead for the basketball legend

The rift between Durant and Nets owner Joe Tsai has been making big news. Durant has even requested to sack the general manager and head coach. So, at least, he doesn’t seem likely to continue playing for a long duration for his present franchise.
