The Philadelphia Phillies save their best for the last. At least in Friday’s game, that turned out to be the fact. The Phillies reached the wildcard round after narrowly surpassing the Milwaukee Brewers on a regular season aggregate. A clean swept series against the dominant Houston Astros placed the Phillies in the wildcard round.?

On Friday, the Phillies shocked the Cardinals to win their first wildcard game. The Cardinals were leading by a 2-0 margin until the 9th inning. But a burst from the Phillies batters took them to a 6-2 lead at the top of the ninth inning. Eventually, the Phillies defeated the Cardinals by a 6-3 margin.?

NBA superstar James Harden who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers took much joy in the Phillies’ victory. The 10-time All-Star Harden is one of the most popular basketball players worldwide. Earlier on, he also played NBA for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Brooklyn Nets, respectively. After the Phillies vs Cardinals game, Harden posted on Twitter stating, ‘Crazy comeback Phillies’.?

Phillies star slugger Alec Bohm spoke to ESPN after the game saying, “It’s what we do, we fight. We’re never out of it. That’s just kind of who we are.” Whereas, the Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson simply replied, saying, “Electric”. ?On the other hand, the dejected Cardinals’ manager Oliver Marmol reacted to the shocking loss, saying, “Unfortunately, that last inning got away.”?
