Not once but twice A-Rod had caught taking performance-enhancing drugs. And he didn’t even have to go through any punishment from Major League Baseball when it happened the first time. But the second time that he did had put a major dent in his career, which people still talk about every day.
LeBron King James sat down for an interview after the Biogenesis scandal involving Alex and PEDs broke out in 2013 and talked to length about it.
What did LeBron James say about Alex Rodriguez?
At the time of the 2013 MLB season, Alex was found guilty of taking and distributing performance-enhancing drugs. Therefore, as punishment, he got suspended for the rest of the season. In addition to that, he also got suspended for the whole of the 2014 season.
During his interview with ABC news, LeBron James got asked about the kind of message it sent everybody. “It sends a bad message. It’s unfortunate that we have a story like Alex Rodriguez. You never want to see controversy because it’s a direct effect to the kids that’s coming after us. So many kids look up to us as role models and as leaders and as inspiration to do what’s right,” said James.

When did Alex first take PEDs?
From the years 2001-2003, the former shortstop had taken steroids. It was said that he took them to improve his game under the pressure of being the highest-paid MLB player.
