A-Rod is always dressed up in a suit and formal wear from head to toe for work. It is not something that Rodriguez started after retiring from the game. It dates back to when Alex was still a teenager and had already started to build his business empire. While building his empire one day, when A-Rod was 20, he appeared for a meeting dressed in a suit.

Lundqvist, in his podcast, asked Rodriguez about the reason behind wearing suits. While crediting his host for having a good source, Alex said, “We’re all a product of our environment. I grew up, my favorite movie of all time was Wall Street and Gordon Gekko, he was always in a sharp suit. And then, my heroes growing up, Magic Johnson, Cal Ripken, Michael Jordan, they wore suits.”

Jordan and Johnson are absolute icons in the NBA and have inspired countless. But little did they realize then, that a child watching them would grow up to be a legend in his own regard, and make suits a staple of his style.

A-Rod thinks that those who wear suits now are dinosaurs!

A-Rod appreciated and thanked the sports legends who inspired him. However, he also jokingly stated that whoever wears suits now may be considered a dinosaur. Continuing his conversation with Henrik, Rodriguez said, “We’re like dinosaurs now, because not a lot of people wear suits, especially after covid. People are like where the hell are you going to a wedding? I’m like, no, I’m going to work.”
