Even with no postseason to play for, Aaron Judge is keeping busy. With baseball taking a backseat, the New York Yankees Captain has made headlines for various philanthropic endeavors recently. Judge’s easy-going and down-to-earth demeanor connects him to not just Yankees fans, but baseball lovers in general. Naturally, his visits around the Big Apple, especially when done for other sports, pique popular interest.
Although a pro at baseball, Judge was originally a three-sport athlete in high school. It seems like while he may have officially chosen the bat and ball, the slugger’s love for the hard court remains. But before a trip to Madison Square Garden, the captain took some time to support a local New York coffee shop!

Just like a bookshelf, they say a person’s coffee choice reflects their personality, but it may not always hold true. As the City That Never Sleeps was preparing for the NBA season opener, the Yankees captain also got ready for an appearance. But first, he made a java pitstop at 48 Maple Ave. Coffee for Good, a non-profit that provides jobs to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seemed thrilled to host the Bronx star.
Buying a mocha and a cold brew, per Executive Director Deb Rogan, Judge also posed for pictures with employees. Whether he preferred the black coffee or some chocolatey sweetness is a mystery. A known dog lover, the slugger could also be seen posing with a visiting furry friend, Foxy. The puppy apparently belonged to a local service dog trainer who was incidentally out for a coffee run at the same time.
Judge is known to enjoy simple activities that are synonymous with the Big Apple and can be found signing fan items. Many already know the story of his subway ride with Tyler Austin to get to Yankee Stadium. So it’s no surprise that he always finds time to visit different places in the city. The next day, it was time for another major iconic New York event – the season opener of the Knicks.

As the MLB season looks to the World Series, the NBA season is just beginning. For their first game of the season, the New York Knicks faced the Boston Celtics in an electric atmosphere. A known fan of the team, Judge was spotted before the match-up by fans. They greeted him with shouts of “We love you!” as the slugger and his wife, Samantha Bracksieck, entered MSG amid the flash of cameras.

Ultimately though, the Knicks ended up losing the game 108-104. The Manhattan team’s struggles continue, much like their baseball counterparts from the Bronx. Nevertheless, Aaron Judge remains a popular figure as a one-man army in pinstripes. Incidentally, it’s not just his on-field heroics that inspire the masses.
