Texan fandom is fiercely loyalist in nature, or such is the power of the World Series. That said, there is nothing like an NBA – MLB crossover during the Fall Classic. Out of the many instances when sports people from across the sports realm have come together in support of baseball (and others alike), this particular instance during Game 2 of WS stood out.

The Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and NBA Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki treated the Globe Life Field with their presence, on Saturday as the Rangers battle against the Arizona Diamondbacks. They showed up in support of the Texas Rangers, just like how they had earlier in 2023, in Game 4 of the ALCS while the team played against the Houston Astros. Their constant support for Texas goes back to a common history they share with the state.

The two have a strong bond with Texas owing to the fact that they have played for the Dallas Mavericks. As Game 2 progresses, they join hand with 42000 other fans in Arlington. This is the beauty of multiple sports that have roots in the same state. Not only did the duo delight the fans with their presence in Game 2, but also they might bring in the much-needed winning charm for the Lone Stars.

After the two appeared on the jumbotron in the sixth inning, the crowd could not keep calm. Despite Arizona Diamondbacks’ win after their strong performance at the bottom of the 6th inning, the two sports celebrities were there to cheer on their favorite MLB team.

The news of Doncic being there for Game 2 was revealed on Friday itself. As a true fan of the sport, Doncic had tweeted that he would be available for in Arlington. Rightly so, he and his fellow Dallas Maverick appeared together.
