Unexpected connections often lead to remarkable collaborations. Such is the case with Mike Trout and golf icon Tiger Woods’s extraordinary bond. Mike Trout, renowned for his skill on the baseball diamond, has an equally passionate liking for the fairways and greens. 

So here’s how the story begins. Trout’s admiration for Tiger Woods, whose groundbreaking achievements on the golf course, inspired Trout deeply. Not only as a sportsperson but also as an individual. Trout’s admiration for Woods’ work ethic, dedication, and transformative impact on the sport fueled his own aspirations. As an avid golf follower, Trout dreamed of one day playing alongside Woods and also building a lasting connection.

How COVID Altered Mike Trout’s Golf Course Ambitions

He always envisioned a place where his love for the sport could be shared with fellow enthusiasts. That’s when Trout’s plans became more concrete when he contemplated buying a golf course of his own. But then Covid hit. Trout’s plan to buy a golf course did not go through. Trout seemed to have hit a hurdle. But that’s when his fate came to the rescue. 

Mike Trout’s failed plan of purchasing a golf course due to COVID-19 opened up another surprisingly unexpected opportunity for him. Mike Trout said that someone sent a “video of a drone footage of a guy putting a driving range behind this building.” This caught Mike’s attention, and he immediately shared it with his brother to “see what he’s got going on over there.”

The Grass Is Greener On This Side For Sure 

This was none other than Tiger Woods himself. That led to Mike Trout and Tiger Woods building a relationship. The most admirable thing was that even though during COVID-19, golf courses were shut down, Tiger continued to play. If he could not go to a golf course, he would build one for himself. Mike Trout said, in the words of Tiger Woods, “Well, if I can’t go off, I am going to build it. Build like a little range, maybe a little three-hole course..”

That is when Mike Trout joined hands with Woods in making this little golf course into an 18-hole luxury golf course. He goes on to say that his involvement in building this golf course increases during the off-season when he is not on the diamond. It’s an honor to be associated with a golf course that has a Tiger design. He even goes on to say that knowing Tiger Woods “it’s pretty special, man, just to be able to talk to him. He is the reason I started golf. “I was a big tiger guy.”
