World Series games are attracting celebrity guests consistently, this time from the greens. Though several baseball players play golf during the offseason, these two games are distant from each other. But it didn?t stop the master golfer, Jon Rahm, from appearing in World Series Game 4. Though his presence alone was enough to excite the audience, there was something even more attention-grabbing. His mysterious green jacket.

The Game 4 between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers was thrilling either way. Somehow, the presence of the Spanish golfer, an alum of Arizona State University, didn?t work for the Diamondbacks. The opponent took the game 11-7. However, above the win and defeat of the MLB teams, fans were more curious about Rahm’s outfit.

The green jacket represents an outstanding achievement of the master golfer. Earlier this year, in April, he achieved this jacket for his unparalleled performance at Augusta National. All golf fans know the significance of the jacket, that it represents the reigning Masters’ champ.

Forty years after golf legend Seve Ballesteros claimed his second green jacket, Rahm is the fourth Spanish winner. Before him, Jose Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia claimed the iconic piece of clothing.

Rahm is a Phoenix resident, so for the Phoenix team, it was a wonderful opportunity to invite him as a ceremonial pitcher for World Series Game 4. The golfer also accepted this opportunity and pitched the first pitch of Game 4 wearing his green jacket. Augusta National has some strict rules for using the coat – in?one of his interviews, the Spaniard said that he didn?t know all the rules, but he had to sign a contract before he received the jacket.

Some restrictions include wearing golf attire when wearing the Green Jacket. No jeans and no shorts are allowed. Another rule said the Green Jacket can?t be used randomly without permission. If the owner wants to show off, he has to get permission from the club. Which Rahm luckily got for this special World Series occasion!

However, he was not the first golfer to throw a ceremonial pitch in baseball games. A few more golfers have done that before, even in this MLB season.

Baseball teams often invite renowned entities from different sports to throw ceremonial pitches. Before the Spanish golfer, the MLB world has witnessed other PGA Tour golfers like Adam Hadwin, Justin Rose, and Brian Harman throwing ceremonial pitches for baseball teams.
